Move A Little Closer (Don't Be Shy)

Coolidgecorner

I had my first Knitsmiths experience last night, and I have to say, it was quite fun. As is common with most knittiers and knitting groups in general, everyone was friendly, funny and welcoming.

And, how adorable is Coolidge Corner?

Very.

Of course, I completely forgot to pull out my camera to get some pics of the group, but I'm pretty sure there'll be a thorough record on the official Knitsmiths blog.

A highlight of the evening was Colleen's generous yarn offering. I was the lucky recipient of a healthy leftover cake of Rowan Summer Tweed. I had mentioned wanting to try it out for a project and Colleen offered up her remnant for some swatching action.

See what I mean about these knitters?

Salt of the earth, these people!

Sadly, it's too late in the evening to take decent pics, so I'll snap some tomorrow and post them when I get some swatches finished for a full report.

I spent most of my time working on Cool Cagoule and ended with a few sock rows on the Brightest Blue sock EVER. When I got home, it was just toe shaping and Kitchenering. Again, pics to come tomorrow along with a report on my Koigu Stash Enhancement from a stop into A Good Yarn on the way to the knit group. In other words, MORE KOIGU PORN!

Did I mention how adorable Coolidge Corner is? No? Well, it is. So many people with furry friends. I was in heaven petting all the pampered poochies. Also, lot's of lovely shops. I'll have to make a full day of it next time -- assuming the weather cooperates.

Maybe, just MAYBE, I'll actually move a little closer (don't be shy) to the fair city of Boston, MA.

[P.S. Is it just me, or am I the only one who places herself in peril by dangling dangeroulsy close to the edge of the subway platform in order to get a glimpse of the impossibly cute little mice? So cute. You can often find me careening over the edge encouraging the mice to MOVE AWAY FROM THE TRACKS when I hear the T coming.

(See, the people on the far right are intrigued as well...)

I really, REALLY, really need a pet.]

I like the cute mice at Park Street, although, well, I've never talked to them :). Glad you had a good experience at your knitting group! They're great, aren't they?

Coolidge Corner is really cute! It took me 6 months of living in Boston to get there since I was out of town on business so much! Glad to hear you had a good time at your knitting group :) Happy Monday!

Oh, how I miss you, Boston! I loved Coolidge Corner. I used to jog around there because I loved it so much. It looks a bit more chichi now though! There also used to be a good Japanese place around there.

Nice photo of Coolidge Corner. Great things there -- J.P. Licks Ice Cream and burritos and great bookstore!
